Kyler & Jenny | Salt Lake LDS Temple Wedding Photography

This wedding was back in August...full on wedding season at the Salt Lake City LDS Temple! I've never shot there, and it was a ZOO!! Oh my! I talked to another photographer and asked if this was normal to have this many people here and she said yes! Everyone was waiting for a spot on the steps to do group shots and if your group was out of the temple and there was no spot for you, oh well. Either wait or find somewhere else that wasn't crawling with people to take them.

I was nervous because my bride (who also happened to be one of my good friends and practically a sister growing up) has 7 kids altogether in her family, the groom has 10 and the extended family is also pretty large so I kept checking the stairwells and hoping that when my couple came out i would have an open one because where was I going to put all those people to take a large group picture?! Luckily I had my mom run over and stake one as soon as one opened and the couple was out...our group filled it all the way to the top!

I was probably being way over dramatic about it...but I was getting pretty nervous seeing that it looked like I was up front at a concert, having to elbow my way through all the people that were there at the temple that day. Seriously, there were a ton...and my hat is off to Utah photographers because they deal with this regularly but make it look as if the bride and groom are the only ones there that day!

All in all it was a fun (hot) day and I loved shooting at the beautiful Salt Lake temple!

Sweet Baptism | Woodland California Family and Event Photography

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

Here is a sweet family I was able to meet and take pictures of during this holiday season. Their little guy was being baptized and so we decided to get some family photos before hand and then I was able to stay and document the baptism. I've never photographed this kind of event and I thought it was such a great idea to have a photographer there! The mom and dad were able to go around and socialize and not have to worry about taking pictures or getting copies from relatives later and there was someone there to take group photos at the end too. It was fun and I wouldn't mind doing something like this again...hint hint...haha. They chose a darling little Church outside of Woodland....pretty much in the middle of nowhere :) but is was really cute and her dad was there to do the ceremony, so that made it a really special event!

Will & Renee | Oakland California LDS Temple Wedding

FINALLY the busy, busy family photo season is coming to a close! As our family has grown in size since I started taking photos as a job (from one child to three) it has become so much harder to balance everything and even more so during the holidays! It's been crazy and yet so much fun! I am glad to be able to relax a little before Christmas and finally catch up on my blog!

Hopefully there will be a new site up and running by the new year. I'll give more info on that as it comes but for now here is an AWESOME couple! Renee had asked me to take their photos in Oakland and I really wanted to but I had just had a baby and wasn't sure if I could do all the traveling so she asked again and I felt so loved that I just couldn't say no :) And I am so glad I was able to go out there and hang out with her and her husband (to-be...we did these before the ceremony!) Them, along with their entourage ;) were so much fun! I need to hire people like that for all my brides. Fixing hair, laying out the dress, it was pretty nice.

Her mom made her beautiful dress! My favorite was her bouquet ...which I didn't get a good shot of...they forgot the flowers in Sacramento so they ran to the store and bought a bouquet of flowers and wrapped the stems with curling ribbon...it was awesome :)
